Our medical establishment rose to by power telling the American people that Public Health Should be Distrusted and by claiming that they had the secret sauce to “restore trust.” However, three recent articles show the leaders of the FDA, NIH, and CDC have completely and justifiably lost the trust of the American people.
Prasad is a very very dangerous and foolish man.
The first article was titled FDA to Impose Strict New Vaccine Requirements, Claiming Child Covid Shot Deaths, which said:
The nation’s top vaccine regulator on Friday laid out a stricter approach for federal vaccine approvals, citing his team’s conclusion, without detailing the evidence, that coronavirus vaccines had contributed to the deaths of at least 10 children.
I didn’t read all 1,850 comments, but of the several hundred I read, 100% were like this:
- The FDA has become increasingly unreliable. They now formulate a theory/ conspiracy, and manufacture evidence to fit their agenda.
- The FDA is now setting the US up to lose tens of millions dead if the wild type bird flu mutates or recombines to spread human to human. Prasad is a very very dangerous and foolish man.
- “I remain open to vigorous discussions and debate,” Prasad wrote to his team, adding that staff who did not agree with the core principles of his new approach should submit their resignations.” Hey Dingbat, you contradict yourself in this statement. I don’t love that you are in charge of anything important.
- So, more people will die from preventable diseases because of some arbitrary bias of anti-vaccination nut-jobs. I’m grateful I have the resources to travel to Canada and/or Mexico and just pay for my vaccinations out of pocket. But, of course, the majority of Americans don’t have that option. What a sad place this country has become.
- Not only will more children needlessly contract or even die from Covid, due to lack of vaccination, but also, unvaccinated children will spread more Covid to their families, caregivers, teachers, classmates. Those cases will include cases in vulnerable people who then will die or suffer lasting damage, rack up vast medical bills, lose earning potential take up hospital beds….This regime dies not understand how public health works. Worse, it does not care to know. Terrifying.
- I’m glad this guy wasn’t in charge when Covid hit. Millions would have died waiting for his slow-down-and-die approach to vaccine development and approval. Unfortunately, in his short tenure he has managed to do lasting damage to the process.
- CDC and FDA have tainted leadership who aren’t worthy of trust. Prasad is one of them.
- this nightmare of trump and his cabinet needs to end. I read this stuff and am infuriated that these quacks and cruel people are allowed to operate the way they do.
- We must demand the proof relied upon for claiming the vaccine killed 10 children. Vinay Prasad’s unsubstantiated claim is meaningless.
- This is what happens when you have a government that no longer depends upon experts. It’s so frustrating. We look like a bunch of idiots in this country. More than that many children are going to die because of this.
- How many deaths were the result of NOT being vaccinated?
- These loonies won’t be satisfied until we go back to using leeches to draw out the bad humours from patients.
- To think Covid vaccine is any more dangerous then the many other ultra safe childhood vaccines is so absurd I just want to reassure non medical folks please use the American academy of pediatrics recommendations for vaccines. It is evidence based. Like it says in this article, these Trump appointees beliefs are not taken seriously at medical conferences
- This is untethered to any verifiable fact and misinformation. Kennedy and his coven need to exit.
- If this team had been in charge in 2020, the death toll would have been unimaginable. I’m probably alive today because there were still people in the FDA and CDC then who believed in science. God help us if we get another pandemic with a government that actively opposes vaccines and masks.
- I think the federal government is attempting to interfere with decisions that should be made jointly by licensed doctors and parents of children. This is the BIG GOVERNMENT that Trump and MAGAs claimed to oppose.
- Science denying fruitcakes. It’s no difference from a shoe salesman doing surgery on your feet. We still have 3 years, and 2 months left of Trump’s administration, and I wonder if we can survive.
- Nothing short of banning all vaccines is RFKjr’s goal. The best way to achieve it is to link each vaccine to at least one death the vaccine allegedly caused. Even “I vaccinated my child and the next day she drowned in the neighborhood pool” will do.
Batthacharya couldn’t carry Faunci’s water.
The second article was titled We Can’t Diet and Exercise Our Way Out of the Next Pandemic. It said:
In the event of a sudden pandemic, what should we do? This month, Jay Bhattacharya, the director of the National Institutes of Health, offered a remarkably blunt answer: nothing.
I didn’t read all 587 comments, but of the several hundred I read, 100% were like this:
- OK. America should not expect doctors, nurses, techs and other staff at the hospital to show up to work and risk their lives unsupported.
- RFK Jr.’s rhetoric about essentially, survival of the fittest—amounts to something more troubling than policy debate. It increasingly feels like a quiet endorsement of a system that lets the weakest among us fall through the cracks. I’m not saying there’s a secret plan. But I do wonder whether neglecting the vulnerable isn’t a flaw in the system—but the point of it.
- Yeah, the “just-be-a-healthy-individual” prescription worked so well during the Spanish Flu epidemic of 2018, which killed over a half million in the U.S. The virus targeted the young and healthy. I remember my grandfather telling me that a classmate could be in school one day, and dead and gone the next during that time.
- I can only hope that there is no significant medical emergency in the next 1146 days == the duration of this administration’s anti-health, anti-prevention, anti-people perspective.
- Someone should remind these MAHA geniuses that the 1918 influenza pandemic preferentially killed those with the strongest immune systems. Because the virus had undergone a major antigenic shift our immune systems overreacted to it, causing sudden death in previously healthy young people.
- As a very fit and strong athlete eating healthy at 44, I was still struck by aggressive cancer. To assume a person maintaining excellent health will be protected from disease is nuts. Yes, it’s true that many people should try a bit harder for a healthy lifestyle. It’s also true that our food industry can push the worst foods into the market and the chemical industry can produce pretty much whatever they want and we all live in a world of environmental toxins. There’s already a lot of headwinds for our bodies to overcome, and now we’re supposed to fight off a pandemic disease by simply being “healthy”? The ignorance is beyond comprehension.
- This horrible pandemic slaughtered millions of perfectly healthy older Americans. I had a friend, a farmer, who was in very good shape, worked outside everyday, die from COVID after weeks in the hospitial. He got it teaching school in person, not weeks before the vaccine was available. These people do absolutely nothing but lie for their own self-aggrandizement and probably profit (certainly profit for RFK Jr.). They could care less how many people their policies kill. I don’t believe that Bhattacharya believes anything that he is saying right now. I guarantee he’ll be socially isolated at the next pandemic, and he’ll get the vaccine asap. This man is not stupid. He knows he’s full of nonsense. No one should ever fall into the trap of believing any of these shill believe in anything. They believe in what they can sell to gullible people who will make them richer and more powerful. That’s all there is to it. Trying to converse with such people rationally is a complete waste of time. I think that it is absolutely essential that we stop giving any of these people the benefit of the doubt. They don’t believe the nonsense they blather. They could care less about America or the American People. They care about their own self-aggrandizement, and their own treasure. They are nothing but shills, and it is completely obvious when you listen to the constantly evolving word salad they spew.
- To be able to treat and recommend prevention methods for an infectious agent, it is necessary to know what it is and where it is. The Trump Administration has basically destroyed the early warning systems for infectious agents that have been in place for decades. Imagine the United States deactivating our early warning systems to warn us of a nuclear attack. The US has withdrawn from the World Health Organization, a critical sentinel that is part of the early warning system. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has lost 30% of its staff since the Trump Administration took over. State and local health departments have been severely impaired because of funding reductions and anti-public health sentiment. Hate is not a solution but if that’s all that remains in our collective public health sensibilities, then COVID could very well have been a small blip compared to what is possible in the future.
- So the new official approach is to assume that the next pathogen will cull the population of the aged and people with chronic illnesses? And that the young and healthy will survive? What if the next pathogen is one like that of the 1917 influenza epidemic? I seem to recall that one of the points that was made in the classic account of this pandemic was that the young and healthy fared at least as badly, if not worse. Soldiers were dying like flies and then spread the disease to the civilian population. How fast one forgets history!
- I’m a retired pediatrician who has experienced taking care of severely ill children and children who have died from terrible illnesses. Those of us who have experience dealing with dead bodies and their aftermath have a much more realistic viewpoint about taking care of each other. It’s great to have a sunny viewpoint that all of us should be able to survive while being happy and healthy. But life isn’t like that. Very difficult and ugly things happen to good people all the time. When we have people like Batthacharya espousing these Ozzie and Harriet like warm and fuzzy pictures, I think it’s time they should be rehabbed into the soft underbelly of humanness, having them spend serious time wiping up feces and vomit when good people become ill. A few months in the ICU and CCU bringing bodies to the morgue and then taking care of the family’s’ aftermath should help turn around the sunny viewpoint that their magical thinking will not cover the bases. Life is difficult and not all bodies are made for the rigors of trying to reach the mathematical life span. Anthony Fauci understood that life is both beautiful and cruel. He got us through the AIDS epidemic as well as anyone possible. Batthacharya couldn’t carry Faunci’s water.
This is shameful. Andrew Wakefield’s fraudulent writings have been thoroughly discredited by real scientists.
The third article was titled CDC in Turmoil After Agency Backpedals on Rejecting Vaccines-Autism Link. It said:
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revised its website to contradict the long-settled scientific conclusion that vaccines do not cause autism, shocking career scientists, delighting anti-vaccine activists, drawing a rebuke from a key Republican senator and sparking an uproar among medical professionals and autism advocates who questioned whether the agency’s credibility is now gone.
The agency’s website on vaccines and autism, updated Wednesday, now makes several false claims about a connection, echoing rhetoric fromHealth Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has a lengthy history of disparaging vaccines and linking them to autism.
I didn’t read all 1,676 comments, but of the several hundred I read, 100% were like this:
- The CDC used to be a leader in global health, protecting the US from global pandemics and containing communicable disease outbreaks in the US. Under Trump and his unqualified henchman RFKjr it has been reduced to a bullet-ridden shadow of its former self. The damage done to the CDC is permanent and irreversible loss to America. Thank you MAGA for electing these fools to “get the libs”. They have destroyed American society and the result is a corrupt, incompetent and evil government representing only plutocrats and criminals.
- So a government web site outright has false information. Horrific.
- The diseases that vaccines prevent have killed hundreds of millions over the course of the centuries. There is not a creditable vaccines-autism link other than some of those hundreds of millions would have autism.
- Look up Lysenkoism—Soviet pseudoscience that caused tens of millions of deaths in Russia and China.
- Lies and mendacity. At the public expense.
- Lots of justly warranted incredulous indignation. How many will die because of this pseudoscientific dross? It is the stuff of nightmares, but in truth a sign of the modern internet driven fantasy land we are all living in now. For this particular BS to be relegated to the padded cell it deserves along with its proponents.
- What the current CDC is promoting will start huge outbreaks of diseases formally stamped out or receded to small numbers of infections. It’s already started in Texas and has spread to New Mexico and other states. This country could well be the reason for future pandemics. The utter lives and lack of medical knowledge and/or medical research knowledge is horrifying.
- I will do the opposite of what the current CDC advises. And when will the media stop soft peddling? These are lies, not false claims. Call them what the are.
- How long will it take for those of us who value impartial scientific advice based on peer-reviewed research to trust the CDC again?
- Jesus. Christ. I don’t have the words to describe what I’m feeling about this insanity.
- These are horrible people that mock real science to no discernable end. Where is the good in greater sickness and mortality?
- This is shameful. Andrew Wakefield’s fraudulent writings have been thoroughly discredited by real scientists.
- What an extremely depressing time this is, when fiction and personal bias replaces scientific research.
- An official US government web site affirming pseudoscience. What’s next – references to a young earth and global flood on the USGS website? God help us.
- Another fine trustworthy American institute blown out of the water by Maga mayhem.
- The study that suggested a link between vaccines and autism was FABRICATED. That wasn‘t even “pseudoscience“ but blatant fraud and scientific misconduct
Perhaps the wisest comment was this, “Just do the opposite of whatever this administration recommends!” It’s obviously not good that people have lost trust in the FDA, NIH, and CDC. However, since those once vulnerable institutions are now lead by naked emperors, it’s good that the American public, at least those that read the news, has uniformly recognized they have no clothes.
